Duration : 6 hours; from 9:00 -> 15:00
Price: 150 euros, per car with capacity up to 4 people.
Besides the beautiful scenery and astounding view of the lake, this tour offers the possibility to experience the traditional Cozido das Furnas. This is a meat and vegetable stew which is cooked for six hours using natural heat from the crater.
Departure from Ponta Delgada with stops at the following locations:
- Santa Iria viewpoint, where you can enjoy the view of the north side of the island.
- Gorreana Tea Factory, visit the tea factory and taste the wonderful azorean tea.
- Pico do Ferro viewpoint, with a superb lookout point of Furnas valley
- Furnas Valley, with visits to the hot springs area, and to the lake to experience the withdrawal of the pots of stew from the hot springs (fee not included).
- Furnas Valley, Stop for lunch. The place to have lunch is a free choice by the customer (lunch not included).
- Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of the island, with a visit to Nossa Senhora da Paz church.
